serves as an exceptional foundation for potential professional guides and
private river runners looking to learn skills needed to take family and friends
rafting. For more info on these schools please see the

The McKenzie River is a
perfect river on which to learn how to kayak. Long calms on the river allow
students to get comfortable in the kayak on a river. Entry level rapids provide
opportunities to discover ferrying and getting in and out of eddies. And the
fun and playful class III rapids help students refine new skills. Many
different class options are available. |
If you have been wanting to try
your hand at fly fishing on a beautiful alpine river, then consider our fly
fishing courses. Located on the McKenzie river, one of the premier trout rivers
in the world, these instructional trips include all fishing gear, fly and
equipment overview, casting instruction, and more. These courses feature
on-land casting instruction, an overview of flies and equipment, and
personalized, small group instruction. We also offer women-only fishing
instruction, taught by female guides. Multi-day trips with time on the river,
drifting from one prime fishing spot to another and overnight lodging at the
Adventure River House are also available. |

The highest mountain
passes in Oregon are within 30 minutes of the Adventure River Center. These
passes host some of the best natural cross-country ski areas in the Pacific
Northwest. Snow-covered fire roads lead up and into thick forests and are ideal
trails for backcountry skiing instruction. Our cross country ski classes are
ideal for those who want to learn how to safely enter into the quiet,
beautiful, and scenic world of wilderness skiing. These two and three-day
courses include overnighting at the cozy and charming woodstove-warmed
Adventure River House. |
