At the heart of the Adventure River Center is the Adventure River House. This 1500 square foot home, located in a rural area on the McKenzie Highway opposite the McKenzie River, features sleeping acccommodations for up to 12, a charming and dramatic architectural style that is both modern and woodsy, full kitchen facilities and gear, stereo and VCR, and lots of creature comfort character. The Adventure River House sits amid cottages and pastures on a four-acre parcel in an area of countryside homes. This three-bedroom and large loft Oregon vacation home is regarded by guests as the perfect place to base a weekend or week of adventure.

The Advenure River Center offers both professionally-outfitted and self-guided recreation activities on the McKenzie river and in the surrounding mountains and valleys. Activities such as rafting, kayaking, biking, and fishing are easily facilitated by and within short drives of the Adventure River Center.

McKenzie River rafting trips from 2 hours to 2 days are available on the McKenzie through our affiliate outfitter, High Country Expeditions. These Oregon rafting trips are well-suited to experienced and first-time rafters alike. For longer trips Destination Wilderness offers wilderness rafting adventures such as Rogue river rafting trips. For McKenzie river rafting, certain trips and stretches of river are ideal for families with smaller children and seniors seeking either a playful rapids or a piece of river that offers beautiful scenery and solitude with no whitewater. The trips without significant rapids are offered in the late afternoon when the river is at its most serene. We also offer raft and kayak rentals as well as kayak instructional programs.

McKenzie river fishing trips and fly fishing classes are also available. The McKenzie River is a world class trout stream and features golden opportunities to land native trout. Our one and multi-day guided fishing trips feature friendly and talented guides who row drift boats from one potentially rewarding fishing hole to another. Our fly fishing classes include instruction on equipment, casting, and knots. These classes are ideal for those who want to learn the art of fly fishing.

In addition to the river related outdoor adventure opportunities, nearby mountain bike trails and fire roads, snowmobiling trails, climbing rock faces, and quiet alpine hiking trails are all within a half-hour or less drive of the Adventure River Center. With rafts and kayaks available for rent to the general public, and mountain bikes and fishing gear for the Adventure River House guests, we feel that the Adventure River Center is the perfect place to call on for your next outdoor adventure!

The Adventure River Center is located on the McKenzie Highway, between the towns of Vida and Blue River, approximately 45 minutes east of Eugene, Oregon. The McKenzie Highway (Oregon State Route 126) parallels the sparkling, pine tree-laced McKenzie River that flows from headwaters in the Three Sisters Wilderness Area.
